Una nuova esperienza nella musica antica
La nascita di un nuovo gruppo sottintende nuovi stimoli, nuove esigenze, nuove necessità . Dopo molti anni di militanza, i promotori di questa nuova avventura sentono lâurgenza di tornare allo spirito delle origini del movimento di ricerca sulla musica antica, rimettendo al centro dellâesperienza performativa le suggestioni del suono, la sua fecondità sensoriale.
La centralità del suono, infatti, è paradigma ideale e reale di una riscoperta degli strumenti e delle tecniche storiche, come dei luoghi storici: spazi che nutrono i sensi nobili della vista e dellâudito in unâesperienza percettiva di totalizzante bellezza.
Coerentemente con lâidentità di coloro che hanno fondato il gruppo (Ugo Giani, Fabrizio Lepri, Stefano Lorenzetti), la progettualità generale dellâensemble si costruisce sul costante colloquio tra le più avanzate acquisizioni della musicologia storica e le sperimentazioni della prassi esecutiva senza alcun interesse antiquario, bensì con la missione di rendere la musica sempre più viva e âparlanteâ allâorizzonte dellâoggi. Per questo, la commistione di generi e repertori diversi dal mondo, dalla musica etnica alla musica contemporanea, è perseguito non nella prospettiva di una inerte giustapposizione, ma di una rivelatrice intersezione di saperi e di mondi percettivi: è il passato che parla al presente e il presente che guarda al passato.
A New Early Music Experience
The birth of a new group implies new stimuli, new requirements, new necessities. After years of activism, the promoters of this new adventure feel an urgency to renew the original spirit of the research movement in early music, restoring the evocativeness of sound â its sensory fertility â to the centre of each performance.
The centrality of sound, in fact, is the ideal and real paradigm of a rediscovery of period instruments and techniques, as well as of historical areas: spaces that nourish the noble senses of sight and sound through a perceptual experience of overwhelming beauty.
Consistent with the natures of the groupâs founders (Ugo Giani, Fabrizio Lepri, Stefano Lorenzetti), the overall programme is built on constant dialogue between the most advanced findings of historical musicology and experimentation in actual practice â with no antiquarian interests, but rather a mission to render the music ever more alive and âspeakingâ to a contemporary perspective. To this end, the mixing of diverse genres and repertories from throughout the world, from early music through ethnic to contemporary, is pursued not from the perspective of an immobile juxtaposition, but rather a revealing convergence of learning with perceptual worlds: it is the past that speaks to the present and the present that looks to the past.
